At the foot of Table Mountain and off Kloof St, one of Cape Town's most vibrant streets, the Lady Hamilton is centrally located, and close to all of the city's main attractions. Nestled in a residential street, the hotel is just a 5-minute drive to the Table mountain cablecar, the popular V&A [meaning unclear] Waterfront and 10 minutes from Cape Town's best beaches. The international airport is a 20-minute drive away. The hotel has an excellent bar to the right of the lobby as you enter the hotel. The bar and lounge area has been beautifully decorated by a local designer using African artifacts. There is a small outdoor swimming pool with sundeck and sun loungers; drinks and snacks can be ordered by the pool. Laundry and dry cleaning facilties are available to guests. Parking is also available for a small fee. AHJ 0509. Painted pink, this 3-storey building is a good example of original Cape architecture in the area. The medium-size lobby is nicely decorated with African atrtifacts. To the left is the reception (24 hour service) desk, and in front is a small comfortable sofa-seating area for guests' use. The restaurant area is bright and colourful, with large windows leading out to the swimming pool. Breakfast and dinner are served here daily, with a varied menu serving specialised dishes from all over Africa, as well as European and Asian cuisine. The rooms are spacious and of a good standard, and all have en-suite bathrooms. Each room has air-con, telephone, a writing desk as well as a TV. 10 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station, 2 km to the nearest station (train station), 20 kms to the nearest airport (capetown international), 5 km to the nearest beach, Close to the trade fair ground (green market square).
